If I ask all of you, “Who is a winner?”
I would probably get answers like — ‘A successful personality’ or ‘an individual who has overcome all odds in life and achieved success’ or ‘Someone who has got a notable award or recognition or acquired a profitable million-dollar deal.’
In academics, the topper in the school/university is a winner. In the sports category, an individual who has defeated competitors is termed to be a clear-cut winner. Some athletes are continuously beating their own score, performing better each time, bcos a single game can’t determine their true potential. In the competitive segment, winning is a lifelong process.
If we take a closer look at life, we will agree that even a survivor of tough situations, abusive relationships, and difficult circumstances is also, a winner. If you are making an effort to come out of addiction and no longer depend on drugs to make you high, you are winning, buddy.
A simple definition of a winner is anyone who is not a loser, trying to be the best version of themselves.
Let’s accept the fact that everyone wants to be a winner in life. No one wants to be tagged as a ‘successful loser’ or ‘loser forever’ or ‘undefeatable loser’.
Even, if you are earning well, taking care of your family, following the social standards, and living a decent lifestyle — you are a winner. So, taking this concept on a higher thinking scale, all those who lived or are living or will live on the earth are ‘winners.’
Whatever… there can be many definitions for this word depending upon the scenarios.
I believe, winning is not a sprint but a life-long process of learning, enriching, creating, and impacting the environment around you. When it comes to creating sustainable end results, you need to be super-passionate, have an agile mindset, and possess the skills to leverage your talent.
Any bird can fly in the sky but only an eagle can soar above the storm clouds to avoid the rain.
Friends, even I have survived many challenges … (I wouldn’t speak at this point in life) but look, here I am talking to you, eager and energetic to create more positive experiences in life. I discovered the sense of winning in each small and big moment of my life — the inspiration actually worked as a catalyst to tackle all odds.
While struggling, I never thought about the outcome but focused on the journey of discovery, openness, creativity, and innovative thinking (jugaad). In the journey of life, my core values always stood firm like the roots of the tree, not letting me stumble down or compromise for a cheaper stake. Struggling was like a ritual to me.
I knew what exactly I wanted in life and continued working with gusto and pride. Some thought, I would lose, some people had trust in my creative skills, and some were certain that I would end up as a failure.
All the naysayers, couldn’t stop me. One thing that I realize now is, even then, when I was channeling my resources and power to create something… I was winning…
To succeed in life, you need to access the pull motivation. So, I started listening to motivational speeches and success stories. I also did something different. I analyzed and decoded the 4 types of power inside me that are required to win.
The power of Passion (will you do it even if …),
The power of purpose (why you want to do it),
The power of potential (how will you achieve it) and
The power of perseverance (how long will you go to get it)
And, based on this framework of power assessment, I successfully built my author brand from scratch zero.
I am not done here; the journey is still on until I create a sustainable impact that will inspire others.
It takes responsibility and the contribution of a lifetime to be an unforgettable winner.
So, what’s your definition of Winning? Think over till you tune in for the next episode.
